Recording/Upload procedure Oct 26, 2011 Chris Thornton It's as easy as 1-2-3 1: Log onto the PC using the SoundGuys account. 2: Run Audacity using the icon on the desktop. Record the sermon, then Export as MP3 to the D:\recording_MP3 folder. Name like: YYYYMMDD It will get the .mp3 extension automatically. Edit details if needed on the next screen (Edit Metadata). Close Audacity when it's finished exporting. If Audacity offers to "save changes?" say NO. We don't need the audacity project, as all we care about is the mp3. 3: That's it - lock the screen and walk away. You can log off if Audacity is closed, but don't shut down the machine. The file will automatically upload to the web site at 12:30. It's scheduled daily, but there will normally not be anything for it to do. That's it! Note: We're not using DropBox anymore, as that didn't work out as well as I'd planned. Also, we're storing the files on drive D: as it's 100 GB in size all by itself, and won't get corrupted as easily. Remember, use File | Export, and save to D:\recording_MP3. That's it. I have set the PC to go to sleep after 3 hours. So hopefully, it'll wake back up by tapping the keyboard. Otherwise, hit the power to wake it up.
